Causes - Aga L. Photography

The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn ……    R. W. Emerson

My work reflects love for traveling and discovering diverse beauty of the world we live in.   I use my camera to document and raise awareness to causes I care for, such as preservation of cultures displaced by modern governments, health and education, protection of endangered species and rare ecosystems.

It’s important for me to know that something I have created will go to benefit causes I have close to my heart. There is something special about being able to give artwork away, it’s very personal, as if I’m giving something of myself. I donate 10% proceeds of sales to BOS and have donated art pieces to support local causes, because I know direct impact and benefit of my work on community I call home…..

Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Foundation

It’s a story of land lost to greed, culture lost to globalisation, and the guardian of the forest threat to extinct. In the old dayak beliefs they say that orangutan canopies the rainforest, they spread seeds all over the forest floor as they swing about on the trees canopy, the shamans learnt their medicinal practice by observing orangutan, they believe that they were there before them and they were their teacher… This is a story about a handful of people who try to save what remains can be safe, this is a struggle story of saving the orangutan therefore saving the rain forest, disappearing very rapidly at a rate of 10 soccer fields and hour!
